The naked aggression in Gaza has transfixed and united much of the global community in horror and outrage. In the West people of all faiths have condemned the killing of innocent civilians and the maiming of thousands. The destruction of communities, neighbourhoods, schools and hospitals has moved hundreds of thousands to take to the streets in protest. The attack on Gaza being broadcast live to the world is a challenge to people of faith - particularly the Abrahamic faiths - and an affront to our humanity. What is the Islamic response to such provocation and inhumanity? Is there a way to break the cycle of violence and hatred? In what way can British Muslims - angry about what is happening - contribute towards ensuring that justice and peace prevails? How do we achieve justice and peace in the region?
